A surprise visit in Barcelona!
Well, I’m finally in Font Romeu France, but getting here was a bit of an adventure!
I flew from Budapest to Barcelona and I was hoping I’d get to see one of my best friends Alexandra on the way through. Unfortunately as it worked out we were only going to be at the airport for 20 minutes before getting a lift to Font Romeu, so I wasn’t going to get anytime to see her :(.
When we landed in Barcelona though, my luggage didn’t arrive and we were told by the airline that my luggage would arrive a whole 2 hours later with the next flight from Budapest. I was really not in the mood for hanging around the airport for another 2 hours!!!
However, I got a really nice surprise when I was coming out of the airport gates with my head down... there was Alexandra! It was the best surprise! I have not seen her for about 10 months so it was SO SO SO great to see her after all of this time! I guess sometimes something good can come out of something bad! :).
Alexandra and I spent 2 hours talking, laughing, and catching up on various things. She brought some gifts for me which included my favourite food in Barcelona - jamon!
After saying goodbye to Alexandra, I got in the car and spent the next two and an a half hours admiring the views and landscapes to our next destination – Font Romeu. The drive was so beautiful.
I could see snow everywhere but I didn’t realise how cold it was until I got out of the car! It was freezing, all covered in snow and about 2 degrees (Brrr!!) but it looked so wonderful!
I can’t wait to have my first training session here, I can tell by the high altitude and temperature it’s going to be a big challenge :).
